American College of Nurse-Midwives
The mission of ACNM is to promote the health and well-being of women and infants within their families and communities through the development and support of the profession of midwifery as practiced by certified nurse-midwives, and certified midwives. The philosophy inherent in the profession states that nurse-midwives believe every individual has the right to safe, satisfying health care with respect for human dignity and cultural variations.

American Academy of Nurse Practitioners
promotes the high standards of health care delivered by nurse practitioners and to act as a forum to enhance the identity and continuity of all nurse practitioner specialties.

American College of Community Midwives
ACCM is a professional organization for midwives and physicians who provide physiologically-based maternity care in a community settings -- client homes or free-standing birth centers.

American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists
(ACOG) is the nation's leading group of professionals providing health care for women. It is a private, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization.

Birth Centers Online
advances public knowledge and understanding of issues related to family-centered childbirth. In particular, the Foundation supports the development and evaluation of the birth center as the model for providing maternity care both now and in the 21st century. It promotes birth centers achieving the highest levels of care through nationally accepted standards of care and quality assurance mechanisms.
